Her work has always centered upon one enduring question:
“What kind of relationship allows wisdom to emerge?”

- Starseed Astrologer
- Professor / Researcher
- Author
- Chaplain / Death Doula
- Storyteller
- Environmentalist
- Pastel Artist
Throughout a lifetime of seemingly diverse experiences, one thread has quietly woven them together: a deep curiosity about human potential and the relationships through which transformation becomes possible.
In 1982, Denise had a tragic, life-altering event where she was shot twice, beaten severely and left for dead while her 4-year old daughter hid under her bed. Faced with a dim prognosis of ever being able to use her left hand, Denise embarked upon a lifelong exploration of healing, consciousness, dreams, spirituality, and the extraordinary capacities of the human mind.
Her search led to seven years of formal metaphysical study at the School of Metaphysics. Denise grew from student to teacher, director, and ultimately National Field Director, overseeing five schools in the Chicago area. There she explored dreams, meditation, visualization, universal laws, intuition, and the disciplined development of inner awareness. Teaching others revealed a principle that would guide all of her later work: transformation does not occur in isolation; it emerges through relationship and connection.
In 1991, Denise began creating the Mind–Body–Spirit Self-Empowerment Programs, bringing spiritual principles into a practical educational framework. She later adapted the programs for people with multiple sclerosis through the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and Tulsa Regional Medical Center, and for women with breast cancer through the University of Texas Medical Branch. That work led to university collaborations, grant-funded studies, peer-reviewed publications, and service as a visiting professor at UTMB.
Denise knew early on that mind-body medicine would become increasingly accepted within the scientific community and that the healthcare paradigm would shift. That conviction fueled her passion for conducting formal research over the past 30 years into the effectiveness of Mind–Body–Spirit programs. Rather than choosing between science and spirituality, she has spent decades exploring the conversation between them and how each can inform the other.
Dreams have been another enduring doorway in Denise’s life. Known to radio and television audiences as “The Dream Lady,” she interpreted dreams during hundreds of live broadcasts and helped people understand the symbolic language of their inner lives. Her work later expanded through astrology, hypnotherapy, Akashic Record consultations, teaching, writing, storytelling, hospice chaplaincy, and service as a death doula.
Her path has also included environmental leadership, community development, pastel art, and a lifelong concern for the relationship between humanity and the natural world. Each role has offered another way to ask how healing, discovery, and human potential can unfold when knowledge is joined with compassion and conscious participation.
Denise’s work has often been described as that of a polymath, bringing together research, teaching, writing, her work as an artist and environmentalist, and spiritual practice.
Today, Denise continues this work through Inner Spirit Connection and the Energy Enhancement System in Austin, Texas. Whether she is teaching, researching, interpreting dreams, or accompanying someone through a life transition, her purpose remains the same: to create the kind of relationship in which people can recognize their own wisdom, awaken to their potential, and participate consciously in their transformation.
“Allopathic medicine and complementary therapies can work independently, or they can enhance one another.”

About Dermot
Dermot M. Kerin, M.S.
Every life is shaped by a question.
“Why am I here?”
As a young boy, Dermot was deeply inspired by the television series Kung Fu and the timeless observation often attributed to Mark Twain: “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you discover why.” That question became the compass for a lifelong exploration that would unite science, engineering, spirituality, education, and service.
At twenty-three, while attending graduate school, a vivid dream and its interpretation became a turning point in his life. That experience led him to the School of Metaphysics, where he immersed himself in the study of dreams, meditation, visualization, universal laws, intuition, and the development of inner awareness. As both student and teacher, he discovered that helping others awaken to their own potential deepened his own understanding. One of Dermot’s greatest joys is encouraging his students to unfold, bloom, and grow in ways they previously did not know were possible.
Throughout his professional life, Dermot followed two complementary paths. One explored the precision of science and engineering through graduate research, aerospace engineering, environmental emergency response, international disaster planning, and environmental and energy-savings consulting.
The other explored the inner dimensions of human potential through teaching, mentoring, meditation, dream work, and spiritual development. Rather than competing with one another, these two paths continually enriched each other.
His career has included innovative work in synthetic blood development, aerospace engineering, leadership within the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, development of nationally recognized environmental compliance systems, international consulting, and the founding of United Services Environmental. Alongside these accomplishments, he continued to explore the relationship between humanity, nature, consciousness, and spiritual growth.
Whether teaching Universal Laws, mentoring students, developing innovative scientific solutions, or creating systems that bring greater order and harmony, Dermot has remained guided by the same lifelong question: How can we better understand our true nature and live in greater alignment with it?
Today, Dermot and Denise Rodgers have reunited through Inner Spirit Connection and the Energy Enhancement System in Austin, Texas.
